Fees

Fees are set in alignment with the Psychologists Association of Alberta’s recommended fee schedule. 

Currently Laura’s fees are $200/hour.  These will increase by $20/hour on January 1/24.

This hour includes 50 minutes in session, and 10 minutes for resource and file management.

Payment is accepted via e-transfer or credit card.

Direct billing through insurance is accepted with Alberta Blue Cross, Canada Life, Medavie, IRS-RHSP and FNIHB.

Laura is also a provider with Unify for Physicians and Surgeons.

Initial Assessment

Prior to your first session, you will fill out a history form and consent forms. The former will help me understand some of what you have experienced, what is prompting you to seek counselling, and what you need in terms of support.

First sessions are an opportunity to review consent for counselling, the history form you completed, get to know each other, and set goals for counselling.

First sessions can stir up a lot of feelings. If possible, it is best to schedule this on a day where you can take things a bit easier.

Policies & Cancellations

Laura is committed to supporting you in your healing process, and will always treat you with respect. I expect the same and disrespectful behaviour will not be tolerated.

Part of this respect is committing to showing up. Your session time is reserved exclusively for your use. You are, of course, permitted to change or cancel appointments, but ask that you respect the 24 hour cancellation policy. This means that you agree to give 24 hours or more notice if you need to change or cancel your appointment. If you cancel within 24 hours of the appointment, or do not show up for your session, you will be billed for the full fee for your session. The reason for this is that there is insufficient time to arrange for another client to take this appointment time.

Heart Tree Psychology requires a valid credit card to be entered into your account through the on-line booking system.

Bookings

Laura typically offers sessions Tuesday-Friday, late morning through mid-afternoon. Supervision is usually offered on Mondays.
